Girls Who Code
Regional Partnership Coordinator
Washington D.C. Metro Area, Virginia, and Maryland
After four years in the classroom working as a math specialist, I realized that gendered beliefs about math and science were happening far earlier than I anticipated. I became passionate about making sure every student saw themselves as a mathematician. My experience in the classroom, along with my love of coding, led me to become involved with Girls Who Code. I was instantly hooked! I now work for Girls Who Code to make sure that teachers and community workers know about our free Clubs curriculum, and can begin inspiring girls at an early age to see themselves as computer scientists.
